WHAT DOES FILM MEAN TO ME?
Film, to me, is one of the most powerful storytelling mediums ever created. It has the power to move an individual to tears, to make them laugh, or even simply make them think. In some way, shape, or form, it invokes some type of action. It connects every person to the stranger down the street or the co-worker from another country. Film, to put it simply, is the human experience.

WHAT DOES GRAPHIC DESIGN MEAN TO ME?
When I discovered the integral role graphic design plays in my everyday life, I was eager to find merge my unique style with important typographical and visual procedures. Now, every time I look at an advertisement, magazine, or book, I am trained to think about the target audience and whether or not the use of type in correlation to the imagery was effective. Therefore, graphic design now plays an important role of how I view the culture around me.
MADAMOISELLE MAGAZINE
JAMAIS VU MAGAZINE
I had to conceptualize these magazines from their names to the content to the intended audience. While creating these pieces, I had to explore various typographical elements to establish hierarchy and consistency throughout. I played with stroke weight, rotation, repetition, and Gestalt Theory.
BIO
I am a recent graduate from Howard University, majoring in film and double minoring in graphic design and Chinese.
Growing up in Memphis, I didn't know exactly what career path was for me. All I knew was that I enjoyed videography and inspiring people. Additionally, I harbored a strong appreciation for other cultures, specifically Chinese.
Throughout my journey of self-discovery that is inevitable in college, I have found my calling in the film realm, where I can inspire people and tell stories of individuals anywhere in the world. I don't know where my passion will take me but I know that as long as I have a camera in my hand, I will be exactly where I need to be.
